Nederlands Blok

Establishment
In 1992 take a number of Dutch right-wing parties to participate in a series of merger meetings led by Vlaams Blok leader Filip de Winter. If this attempted merger would succeed should be called the Dutch Party Block. Alfred Vierling, Ton However Steemers and Hans Lindenburg make this plan impossible in August 1992 a new party on and off with this name to go there. Wim Vreeswijk is involved in the creation and provides a third of the initial capital. Dutch Block takes from September part in merger talks. This, however, fail miserably and all parties go their separate ways. Dutch Bloc seems a fresh new party in the extreme right and many veterans make overtures to escape the snake pit of CD and CP'86. In 1992 en 1993 include, inter alia, W. J. Bruyn, Nico Konst, Douwe van der Bos, ir. P.M. Vrijlandt, Marcel Rueter, Danny Segers and not least Wim Vreeswijk (angry because he Janmaat not as leader on the list for the regional elections in 1991 was put) a look. Noteworthy is the support given Dutch Blok and Wim Vreeswijk at the time of the widow of Rost Tonningen. Vreeswijk enters 1993 nominated by Willem Oltmans several times with the widow to visit, which sounded to him as the new leader of the extreme right in the Netherlands. He keeps screwing up, however, and the contact.

Wim Vreeswijk
Vreeswijk is a result of his involvement in the creation of Dutch Block disbarred by the CD. He then makes quick career in Dutch Block. In December he will leave the party chairman and Quad. Rumors like that Vreeswijk purchased this presidency Quad.
Dutch Bloc does in 1994 participate in the elections and achieves a city council seat in Utrecht, occupied by Vreeswijk. Furthermore Vreeswijk know in a short time the whole party to get their hands. After Quad also leave Lindenburg, Steemers and Rüter party. If alternates are friends Vreeswijk (including his wife Irene Mullaert) appointed to the Board and from July 1994 Vreeswijk and his wife are the only board members. Leaving the party by other board comes with a lot of noise: Quad takes 500 guilder note, Lindenburg spans a lawsuit against his expulsion after his house is daubed with swastikas and Rüter flooded the press with gossip and backbiting about Vreeswijk. After this' coup’ trying to take advantage of the growing unpopularity of Vreeswijk Janmaat and his CD and approaches a large number of newly elected councilors. He knows several councilors from the CD to Dutch block to run on. For instance, in Utrecht John Morren and Henny van Eijk about, Amersfoort following Paul Kreuger, Heerlen John Geurts, Almelo Henry Oudendijk, Schiedam Paul Sanderse and Jos van Vlissingen Creations.

Success
From the end 1994 Block seems to be quickly becoming the main competitor for the CD. Vreeswijk itself as the smart alternative to the CD. However, this is limited to the cleanliness of the party like drug dealers and rapists and the most of the publicity like violent or Nazi backgrounds Bloc members. The party itself is and remains outspoken racist.

Following all the successes the party has good prospects for the Proviciale States Elections in 1995. In some old acquaintances run of these elections diving again: Cousin Mario pulls the list of Gelderland and Giesen Mart in South Holland. Giesen is in 1991 elected to the Provincial Council for the CD, but stepped in December 1994 across to the block. Also let Block activist Henry Sybrandy in late 1994 for the first time. Block tries to present itself through frequent flyer actions, attendance at consultation evenings and some demonstrations. Nevertheless, the party knows mainly to take the press by bullying from CD corner. Thus sent include a fake invitation which Dutch Block a commemoration of the 100th birthday of NSB leader announces Mussert.

Collapse
Eventually, the supposed remains unsuccessful: The party obtains a seat anywhere. The only result that the election campaign has been the persecution of Dutch Bloc members Douwe van der Bos and Heerke Kooistra, because of racist remarks in an interview with the New Dockumer Courant.
This is not the only negative press that gets the Block: In March, a prominent member Daniel Kwan disbarred, because he wrongly uses a docorandus title. In April arrested Dutch Bloc member and election candidate Gerard Wegman in Drachten, after he stabbed a boy (previously, eve of his election candidate, he was already convicted for possession, destruction of the interior of a church and hold a weed plantation).

Douwe van der Bos

Meanwhile attempts Dutch block again to achieve an election success. In Brabant,, because of a municipal reorganization, in november 1995 municipal elections. In Den Bosch, the party joins Mario Nephew as party leader. Before the election is regularly gefolderd and the party holds a picket line at a municipal information evening on drugs. However, the elections again lead to nothing.

After this second electoral debacle, the party seems to retreat to its home base: Utrecht. Vreeswijk keeps trying regularly (ex-)members of other parties to run over to his party, but has little success with it again. Only in February 1997 get Herman Keijzer in Amersfoort at his installation as CD councilor (He replaces CD'er Loan Runia, who left the board) directly on to the block.
It is here and sometimes gefolderd in the country, but only in Utrecht, this is done with some regularity. In addition, the block is the Foundation Appeal Fight Crime (ABC) surveys distributed in Leeuwarden, Help, Amersfoort and Veenendaal. In terms of activities should also be mentioned that Hendrik Sybrandy, not thee onpas you, in the region on behalf of Dutch Friesland Block participate in consultation evenings and sends stacks of letters to the editor.

In municipal elections in 1998 Dutch Blok only in Utrecht with. Attempts to participate in Leeuwarden and Ede failed. The party failed to collect enough signatures. Vreeswijk reelected in the Utrecht council.

Contacts with VB
Dutch Bloc is the only party that maintains good contacts with the top of the Vlaams Blok. Members of Dutch Block by Vreeswijk invariably invited to the activities of the Vlaams Blok. Furthermore Vreeswijk regularly prominent at party meetings in Flanders and he was in July 1997 a congress of the Vlaams Blok Youth Zealand address. Why Vlaams Blok interested in this unsuccessful party is still a mystery.
