Some time before the municipal elections 1998 Some active fascists began discussions on the future of the extreme right in the Netherlands.
Involved included the People's Nationalists Netherlands (VNN), some CD'ers and Outpost. Wim Vreeswijk of Dutch Block was just the party. On the one hand expecting a serious loss in the election and wanted to think how to respond to this. On the other hand it seemed like a smart idea to think again about cooperation within the right-wing camp. The talks were given a boost when some old hands (Chiel King, Alfred Vierling Mart de Giesen) meddle went with it. Janmaat and Wim Vreeswijk were not really interested in the merger plan and put themselves offside. From this consultation, a number of working groups were established in which they talked about the future of the extreme right in the Netherlands.

From that moment, however, the development took an unexpected turn, and seemed ancient history to repeat itself. In 1992 there were also serious merger talks going, when a small group wanted to draw these merger talks to himself and Dutch founded Block. The working groups were formed soon now were dominated by the VNN and in particular by the board members Marc de Boer and Marcel Hoogstra. This coup’ was on 3 juli 1998 followed by the creation of the National Party Netherlands (NPN). The founders of the NPN comprise the complete VNN summit. In addition, a number of prominent CD'ers become member. It is completely filled with the old hands Egbert Perée and Alfred Vierling. An interesting detail is that in Quad 1992 was one of the founders of Dutch Block.
The board of the party consists of the following persons:
chairman Egbert Perée from Dordrecht
Secretary Gerard de Wit from The Hague
and Treasurer John van der Steen from Den Bosch.
That this is a coup by the VNN framework is confirmed by Outpost Chairman Marcel Rüter. He says: "Unfortunately, the working groups were dominated by quickly VNN'ers. Who had a hidden agenda, as it turns. The other group members had no knowledge of the creation of the NPN.’ Further denies that Rüter Chiel King and Mart Giesen became a member of the NPN and he says that when the NPN asks him to participate, he will not even think about it. In a press release Outpost declares that "the establishment of the NPN not imply anything contributing to new cultural and intellectual developments in the Netherlands, which Voorpost Netherlands considers necessary for the future of the Netherlands'. Rüter and Outpost make no secret that they want a break of several years to clear debris and do on education and training. After the break there may be concerns them again talk about the formation of a party. This strategy is supported by Filip the Vlaams Blok Winter, that his comrades of Outpost on 28 maart 1998 came a stabbing heartened.
The new party name interrupt the NPN'ers quickly on a problem. In the eighties there was ever been a National Party Netherlands, this was a forerunner of the Centre Party. This old NPN never did participate in elections, but it was registered with the Electoral Council. However, the Electoral Council may not register a party if the name “wholly or substantially corresponds to an already registered designation of another political group”. The new NPN was under this name will never be able to participate in elections and they had to change the name. To camouflage this mistake is announced shortly afterwards that the NPN with VNN will merge and New National Party (NNP) will be called. In fact, this is therefore simply a very cumbersome name change of the VNN.
What exactly was the intention of the VNN summit with this action is not entirely clear. Possibly one has to take advantage of the chaos within the extreme right to bring together a group of usable extreme right persons. It is strange, however, that there's a new party founded. Possibly this is a successful attempt to get rid of VNN president Wim Beaux. Beaux since more than ten years one of the major roadblocks to a merger, since he does not want to cooperate with the CD. Which will also play with is that one wants to make it harder for Justice to show that the NNP a successor is prohibited CP'86. Indeed, it is prohibited to continue the CP'86 under a different name. At the VNN was to show that it was still fairly a continuation of the CP'86, but at the NNP is this all a lot harder.
Ideology
In the manifesto of the NNP to clarify the party executive ‘nationalists who we are and why we have the task of protecting our Dutch culture, language, sovereignty and identity have taken us to the glory and eternal survival of the entire Dutch tribe and nation. ". The party calls itself a 'Nationalist party‘ en 'Party political face of the national movement'. The multi-cultural society 'No added value for our country, since this leads to global citizenship and ultimately formless people knitting has no benefit for our country and just brings chaos. The NNP prefers repatriation above integration of all alien elements in our national community.‘ With a semi-intellectual sauce they preach the same message as usual racist. Another important item is the so-called ‘Volksnationalisme', an ideology that distinguishes between populations based on their cultural characteristics such as language, religie, customs and habits. People's Nationalist groups want the Dutch language (Nederland, Flanders and a piece of Flanders in France) therefore coexist in one state. Wallonia falls out here because it belongs to a different culture.
VerkiezingenBreda
Op 3 maart 1999 NNP participated in municipal elections in Breda. The party took led by party leader Lord French (give. 21 jan. 1948) However, but 1,2 percent of the vote, more than enough for a seat.
Success?
For now, the NNP seems only limited success. Although there are people from various parties involved, but others stand aloof. Many of the actors from the VNN and the circles Zealand and North Brabant from the CD. Other CD circles yet remain faithful to Janmaat or dropped out. Also from Dutch Blok is no sign of large landing to the NNP. On establishment it seemed that the NNP could count only on disapproval of Outpost, but at a meeting in December 1998 what Marcel Rueter, Chairman of Voorpost Netherlands, one of the speakers. Apparently he has revised his opinion.
The question remains how long will the collaboration within the NNP. The duo Hoogstra and De Boer and Alfred Vierling are reputable fission fungi and often the cause of many conflicts. The former CP'86 chairman Henk Ruitenberg in recent years not exactly been a stable binding factor. Ruitenberg was also on the NNP-December meeting 1998 present.
