Identitair Resistance unmasked

Plotseling zijn ze er, via een opgehangen spandoek, door een persbericht, middels een nachtelijke prikactie. En weg zijn ze weer. The action group Identitair Resistance has been in existence for over a year and regularly knows how to get the papers. En dat allemaal zonder zichzelf te laten zien. Wat is dat eigenlijk, Identitair Resistance? Wie zitten daar achter?

Identitair Resistance is a rightwing extremist group that emerged in the autumn of 2012. The founders were previously also been active in the extreme right scene. They split in establishing Identitair Resistance from the rightwing extremist group Mail. This rupture probably has no political background, but more likely to be caused because different people can no longer together through one door. Both Voorpost as Identitair Resistance after all focus on the same goals and use the same methods of action. Both groups face a 'identitarian’ price, the idea that the Dutch people, Dutch identity, one is. That people hear on this place on the world and should oppose the 'pollution’ by immigrants, by foreign companies and foreign influence on Dutch language. That combine both organizations with the desire instead of a parliamentary democracy to create a fascist state system, with strong leadership that maintains the unity of the Dutch people.

After establishing Identitair Resistance in 2012 it took several months for the group went into action. There followed a series of striking actions that continues to present. Some actions were striking because they were mediagenic, some actions because the timing was right and some actions because they were shocking. A short - do not fully – overview of some actions.

One of the first actions directed against the reception of failed asylum refugees in Amsterdam, the so-called 'Flight Church'. Identitair Resistance announced a demonstration. That turned into a media-friendly choice, because it led among sympathizers of the Church Flight to much commotion. Due to the expected unrest if Identitair Resistance of the City of Amsterdam does not demonstrate for Flight Church, but they had to move to another part of the city. The activists of Resistance Identitair then decided to abandon their intention to demonstrate and did not show up. But the group had expressly found the media without having to do anything. And wanted more.

In juni 2013 knew Identitair Resistance again to generate much attention. The action group responded to a major fraud scandal around stolen exams at the Rotterdam Islamic school Ibn Ghaldoun. Activists Identitair Resistance used this event to react against Muslims. They came at night to the school and joined a gate with heavy locks. The students who had to do the next morning exam then come with great difficulty within the school. The action received wide media attention and strikingly agreement among right-wing Dutch.

A week later a shocking action was taken by a statue of Nelson Mandela. That image was recently unveiled in the presence of Bishop Tutu. The former South African president, freedom fighter and Nobel laureate Mandela by groups like Identitair Resistance seen as a communist terrorist, who helped the racist dictatorship of their white brethren identitarian soap. In the second half of 2013, one year after establishment, left activists Identitair Resistance see for the first time in person. This yielded few surprises. During a multi-day demonstration of leftist activists against strict immigration, Opposition activists demonstrated Identitair. Once popped three activists disguised in a rented boat with a banner. Remarkably also tried in this action was to remain anonymous by putting on balaclavas. That plan failed when the activists were met by the police. The second time Identitair Resistance organized to mobilize a small counter-demonstration and did a bunch of right-wing fights types, including Roy Matthijsse, Willem van Dijk, Tom van den Hoek and Pascal Fraipont. The police managed to keep the groups apart.

Even with a great demonstration of PVV supporters in 2013 Resistance was Identitair present. At this demonstration were many right-wing extremists around from different organizations. Strikingly, the activists Identitair Resistance on that day worked with activists of the neo-Nazi Blood & Honour. The groups started the day peacefully handing out flyers Identitair Resistance. However, after the speech of Geert Wilders revealed what the groups actually were planning. The right-wing extremists tried to organize fights. They sent PVV supporters and ADO hooligans towards a leftist demonstration and tried to move these groups to violence. It worked almost, but also managed to get the police intervened before things got out of hand. The right-wing extremists were removed by police.

Several months later, in february 2014, tried Identitair Resistance during a local demonstration to put on the inhabitants of Leiden against a convicted pedo sexual abuser in that city and against the church which had assigned him a house. In the same week organized Identitair Resistance also a little action against this allocation at the Leiden city hall. Finally Identitair announced in April 2014 a demonstration in an immigrant neighborhood Eindhoven. They wanted that Moroccan residents' appeal’ and declared not to be in turmoil. Eventually, the demonstration was called off.

In all these actions was, despite activists Identitair Resistance tried to keep their identity secret, clear who is behind Identitair Resistance. The main person behind Identitair Resistance is Paul Peters. In addition, there still appears to be a number of fanatical right-wing activists to be prepared from various angles in order to participate in the organization and actions of Identitair Resistance. Peters, however, is the founder, contact person, organizer and spokesman of Identitair Resistance. And Peters is no stranger.

He has been active since the mid-nineties and has a long history of actions, arrests, violence and provocations. Despite the fact that he is a well-known public appearance is due to its long history of controversial political activities remains Peters hiding behind all sorts of lies and pseudonyms. The idea behind this is unknown, but possibly he will not burden this new initiative with his own troubled past. So he now uses as spokesman Identitair Resistance various pseudonyms as "Peter de Graaf ', "Steven de Graaff’ and Helene Spring '. It is striking that Paul Peters except his name, also talks about other matters lies. Told at the time of the demonstration at the Flight Church he that the five organizers from Amsterdam West (None of those involved in Identitair Resistance lives in Amsterdam). He repeatedly that Identitair Resistance has dozens of supporters, including many students, whatever is not true.

What is particularly striking about the organization Identitair Resistance is a good nose for provocative actions, the border look in the hope that others will use violence and the hint of lies and mystery of the identity and background of the organization.

Identitair without identity. Strange.
